All five Mountaineer commits in Ohio named All-State

Ohio has long been a state know for its high level of high school football. It’s also long been a state where West Virginia University chooses to recruit for talent on the gridiron. This year was no different, as a class-high five prospects come from the Buckeye State for the Mountaineers. On Thursday, the final All-State teams were announced, and all five of those verbal commitments received honors.

Running back commit Diore Hubbard out of Gahanna (OH) Lincoln was named First Team All-State for Division One. He ran the ball 223 times for 1,883 yards and 28 touchdowns this season, while adding another 233 yards and two scores receiving. That was a whopping 162 yards from scrimmage and more than two scores per game for a team that went 12-1 this season.
