In a significant move towards enhancing outdoor recreational activities, the Clean Ohio Trail Fund has earmarked over $1 million in grants to upgrade trails in Columbus, Gahanna, and Bexley. This substantial financial boost is set to transform the trail experience for residents and visitors alike, paving the way for safer, more accessible, and enjoyable outdoor adventures. Columbus, the state’s largest city, is poised to receive a $435,000 slice of this funding pie, aimed at completing a vital segment of the Olentangy Trail, a scenic route that meanders from Worthington to Downtown Columbus along the Olentangy River. The commencement of construction in July 2023, with a completion target by summer 2025, marks a significant milestone in the city’s commitment to fostering an active lifestyle among its community members.
