Gahanna Lincoln’s Camden Bentley wins Gatorade Ohio Girls Track & Field Player of the Year

Gahanna Lincoln High School senior hurdler ended her career as the Gatorade Ohio Girls Track & Field Player of the Year.

Camden Bentley, Gatorade announced Wednesday, was named as Ohio’s best high school girls track and field athlete, recognizing what it calls “not only outstanding athletic excellence, but also high standards of academic achievement and exemplary character demonstrated on and off the field.

Bentley, a 5-foot-7 senior, won the 100-meter hurdles at the New Balance Nationals in 13.41 seconds while also taking seventh place in the 400 hurdles. In the preliminary round of the state meet, she set a state record, finishing the 100 hurdles in 13.27 seconds: the fifth-best time in the country among girls high school track athletes.
