Former Spartans Carter, Bess, Wood playing in The Basketball Tournament 2023

The Basketball Tournament is back for another year, with the popular summer event celebrating its 10th anniversary when games tip off this week. And while Michigan State still doesn’t have an alumni team in the tournament that initially gained traction thanks to teams primarily made up of players from one college, three former Spartans are involved in the chase for the $1 million prize.

Former MSU center Ben Carter is playing with Vegas Rebellion, a UNLV-centric group that begins play Wednesday in the Wichita regional. Vegas Rebellion’s first-round opponent is a Missouri alumni team, Show Me Squad.
